TREATMENT TECHNIQUE WITH SEMIOCLUSIVE FOIL BANDAGE FOR TRAUMATIC AMPUTATIONS IN THE AREA OF THE DISTAL PHALANX IN ADULTS, Daniel Zhelev, Stoyan Hristov
Abstract: Introduction. Traumatic apical amputations account for about 2 to 4% of hand injuries in
adulthood. They have a significant impact on finger function and carry a potential risk of
complications. The therapeutic approach is multifactorial depending on the localization and
severity of the trauma.
Objective. To compare the results of treatment with semi-occlusive foil dressing in traumatic
amputations in adulthood with other types of therapeutic behavior. To clearly define the criteria
for selecting patients suitable for such treatment.
Conclusion. Treatment of apical amputations with semi-occlusive foil dressing has a number
of advantages and is a suitable therapeutic method with a low complication rate, with proper
patient selection.
