ANALYSIS AND TRENDS OF NEUROSURGICAL OPERATION IN BURGAS, Todorov Sv., B. Mirazchiiski, Shishkov St., Tomov L.
Abstract: Aim: The aim of the study is to analyze the number of performed neurosurgical
operations by type and complexity in five hospitalsin Burgas for a seven-years period. Material
and methods: Object of the study are data from the hospitals UMHAT Burgas AD, UMHAT
Deva Maria, MHAT Burgasmed, MHAT Heart and Brain- Burgas and MHAT Life Hospital and
perform neurosurgical interventions according to Clinical Pathways No.
204,205,206,207,208,209,210,211,212. Results: Analyzed and presented are data for the
distribution of the total number of neurosurgical operations by year for a seven-years period,
the minimum and maximum number of operations for the same period, the distribution of
operations relative to hospitals in Burgas, and the number of patients wiht conservative
treatment and surgical treatment for mild and moderate brain injuries in the same hospitals.
Conclusions: Main trends in the use of specific diseases in relation to the profile of the medical
institution are presented. Some hospitals without structures in Neurosurgery, this type of
conservative and operative activity is also performed.
