CARING FOR THE “LITLLE EYES” – CHILDHOOD VISION, SCREENING AND DISEASE AWARENESS, Isuf Ziyneb, Pitakova Ivelina
Аbstract: The human eye is one of the most important sensory organs, through which over 95%
of the information about the surrounding world is perceived. During the growth period,
everything new is perceived through the eyes. The visual system of a child develops very
dynamically. It is characterized by plasticity and sensitivity - easy suppression of visual
function, which is at the core of the development of many eye disorders in children. The aim of
the present study is to evaluate the role of screening programs in the development of children's
vision. For this purpose, data from two screenings conducted during the periods of 10.2021
and 10.2023 are presented, covering a total of 184 children aged 6-8 years.
