MICRO-URETEROSCOPY IN ADULTS WITH IMPACTED PROXIMAL URETERAL STONE, Zlatka Cholakova

Abstract:

Complicated urolithiasis presents a significant challenge in endourology. New ultra-thin
ureteroscopes and other small tools make it easier to do endoscopic surgery.
This report shows how well a 4.5 Fr. Ureteroscope works on adults with proximal ureteral stones
that are stuck.
The two-stage method makes it possible to reach the stone without first dilating the ureter,
putting in a ureteral stent, and then performing intracorporeal lithotripsy later.
According to the PULS scale, the treatment worked for both patients, showing that there was no
trauma and only minor damage to the ureteral mucosa.
The use of the ultra-thin ureteroscope in patients with complicated urolithiasis, particularly those
with enclaved ureteral stones, mitigates intraoperative complications and enhances the
postoperative period by alleviating pain syndrome and postoperative hematuria.
